		The GeoMate™ Batching System is a mass flow feeding system based upon our exclusive GeoTray™ feed tray and MassMate™ mass flow hopper. Mass Flow Feeding, High Speed Dribble Feed, Instant Off and No Moving Parts make it the batching feeder of choice for a wide variety of dry bulk products.

The GeoMate™ batching feeder design is simplistic in nature. With one basic design, very small, field changeable modifications are made to each GeoTray™ to meet the needs of a broad range of products. With only one basic feeder design the operator’s learning curve is substantially reduced.

In 2004 3Sigma provided 72 GeoMate™ batching feeders to batch more than 70 different products ranging from Sulfur to Steel Wool. 3Sigma provided the same GeoMate™ batching feeders for all products with only three different GeoTray™ designs.

The Results

One basic design has allowed the operators to fully learn the feeders within weeks. To date not one spare part has been ordered for this system.




	Historical Problem The basic problem for “standard” vibratory feeders is the inability to reliably deliver material from the hopper to the tray. Small or skinny outlets create bridging and ratholing within the hopper. This fact had eliminated vibratory feeders from many applications in the past. The Solution The GeoMate™ is a Mass Flow feeding system. All MassMate™ hoppers are designed for mass flow. First, the hopper wall angles are steeper than the product’s wall friction characteristics thereby promoting material flow in all areas of the bin. Second, the outlet is sized larger than the product’s arching dimension, thereby preventing bridging. In addition the GeoTray™ feed tray promotes mass flow by shearing the entire cross sectional outlet of the hopper. This “live bottom” action, working in unison with the MassMate™ hopper, provides a true a mass flow feeding system.

Why use a GeoMate™ Vibratory Feeder?

The GeoMate™ batching feeder is ideally suited for batching applications due to the feeders ability stop instantly and identically while feeding at 1,200 to 3,600 cycles/minutes, even in the dribble mode of operation. The ability to cycle at such high rates provides an incredibly consistent and repeatable output, which is a major factor in determining final batch accuracy. At the same time, in the dribble mode individual grains or pellets can be controlled and discharged.

	The GeoTray™ can be completely disassembled for cleaning by removing one clamp. The GeoTray™ is suspended by the two back hangers. The GeoTray™can be cleaned in place or switched out with another GeoTray™ if desired.
