Loss-in-Weight – Batching from a scale, on which the feeder and hopper are supported. This allows for multiple ingredients to be batched simultaneously, thereby increasing your production capacity.
Gain-in-Weight – Batching to a scale. Multiple feeders can be utilized but must be run sequentially.
Combination – When required a combination of the two systems is used in providing a solution.
As a Compounding System Integrator 3Sigma is not tied to a single feeder, scale or control technology. The system you receive; including feeders, scales, controls and ancillary equipment will be ideally suited for your specific application.
As with any project, basic information must be collected to analyze and design the appropriate system.
These items will dictate the system approach taken. Typically a decrease in batch time leads to an increase in batch deviation. In general 6-8 seconds is the minimum time required to provide a high accuracy batch.

Compounding Systems can vary from a simple manual station to a complex, fully automated system. Quality improvements, raw material savings and labor savings generally begin with your raw material handling system, which is where our system supply begins.
Storage - Store your bulk product in silos and bulk bags to save on raw material costs and labor. Automatically batch these products, either pneumatically or mechanically, by weight, to your mixer or other destination point. Add your minor ingredients with a filtered bag dump station to minimize dust.
Product Transfer - Pneumatically or mechanically convey from your silo or mixer... or dump to a Cone Valve IBC which is delivered to multiple destinations via fork truck. The choices are numerous.
Ancillary Equipment - In developing your system Silos, Bulk Bag Unloaders, Mixers, IBCs, Totes, Flexible Screws, Industrial Screws, Rotary Valves, Slide Gate Valves, Manual Valves, Aeromechanical Conveyors, Pneumatic Conveyors, Belt Conveyors, Hydraulic Lifts and/or other technologies are used to provide the best integrated solution for your application.
