3Sigma offers a full range of Continuous
Loss-in-Weight GeoMate coating feeders to apply your additives and colorants to the incoming body.  These units can be tied to a belt scale and/or your moisture monitoring system to alter the rate of feed based upon the changing conditions of your clay body.

Additives Fed:

* Bentonite Clay
* Black Iron Oxide
* BrickMax
* Iron Chromite
* Ironspot
* Manganese Dioxide
* Marble Dust
* Pet Coke
* Red Iron Oxide
* Silica Flour

GeoMateTM Solution
Old Manganese Feeder1

Does this look like your Manganese or Additive Feeder?  You don’t need to struggle any longer.  3Sigma can solve this issue.  Recently 3Sigma replaced three screw feeders and a distribution/refill conveyor with one GeoMate™ feeder.  Better than 1% feed rate accuracy and No Moving Parts make the GeoMate™ the Brick Industry’s feeder of choice.

Loss-in-Weight Feeders

Loss-in-Weight (LIW) Feeders, also called gravimetric feeders, utilize a scale and controller to provide high accuracy feeding and closed loop control.  In operation:

* The LIW the controller outputs a signal corresponding to your desired feed rate (30 PPM).
* The controller takes 30-60 samples from the scale per second and processes this data (30.2PPM)
* The controller outputs a speed signal to the feeder drive, in the hundredths of a second, to correct the feeding error.  This closed loop scenario is continuous.

As an option, the LIW GeoMate™ feeder can be slaved to the moisture analyzer and belt scale thereby increasing or decreasing the desired feed rate set point to provide a consistent additive feed to your body and extruder.

Typically the GeoMate™ feeder outlet is designed to allow a 12” to 18” wide coating of your clay body, thereby providing a consistent additive distribution prior to extrusion.  Each feeder can be mounted a few inches above your belt to minimize dusting.  In addition each unit is provided with a sealed cover to prevent any nuisance dust.

Your Bottom Line Savings

-Minimizing labor costs as your operators no longer need to baby sit or assist the flow in your additive feeders.
-Minimize your raw ingredient costs.  Much tighter control of your feed rate translates into less overuse and waste of your expensive additives.  Less is More!
-Minimize maintenance costs.  Replacing 2-3 feeders with one.  Replacing screws, bearings, seals, bushings, agitators and vibrators with a feeder that operates with No Moving Parts.
-Minimize operating costs.  Over the life of the GeoMate™ feeder you will save thousands and thousands of dollars in spare parts costs.

No Moving Parts and an Industry Best 2-Year Warranty guarantee your profitability!
